"There is a great unmet need in the cytogenetics space for improved, accessible, and affordable AI systems to assist in diagnostic routines. Current clinical cytogenetics laboratories in the US suffer from a dire shortage of well-trained laboratory staff. CARAIO's AI-based approach holds the promise to greatly accelerate the training of more laboratory technologists in this field, as well as improving productivity in the number of cases that can be signed out per lab per day, alleviating both of these current pressures. In addition, CARAIO will ideally improve access to cytogenetics testing and diagnosis in resource-limited countries where highly trained staff may be even more scarce. Future applications to FISH and other tests will further expand the market. I would be strongly supportive of CARAIO receiving additional support to further build out their software and undertake needed clinical testing to 1) prove its value proposition to labs and 2) gain necessary regulatory approvals. "
